I should like to discuss it with you at the next meeting of the Steering Group. In the meanwhile, I would very much appreciate any comments that anyone may have as background briefing for Stones' visit next week.

I propose to call the next meeting of the Group immediately after we have had a reply from the Post in Peking to the questions posed in Lord Carrington's earlier brief.
