Finally, Xi spoke about illegal immigration. He said he knew about the recent increases from the authorities in Hong Kong. It was an historical problem which should be solved slowly. Both sides should make great efforts to solve it with China making "even greater efforts". This is very much the line the NCNA took with me yesterday (Hong Kong telno 751).
