This is to introduce to you my good friend Philip Morrice, Assistant Head of the Hong Kong and General Department at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office who will be visiting Hong Kong from the 9th to the 22nd June.

Philip is wellknown to me and also to Michael McWilliam and has been very helpful to the bank not only when he was on the South African desk but also by giving me very valuable introductions to FCO people throughout the world.

He has recently been transferred to the Hong Kong and General Department and this will be his first visit to Hong Kong in that capacity. He is also going to China and I am writing a similar letter to John Brooks who, I understand, is the new Manager in Shanghai.

As I said before Philip is a good friend of mine and has also been very helpful to the Bank in the past and I should be extremely grateful for any assistance that you could give him.
