Mr. LAU Wong-fat welcomed Mr. Clift and Mr. Akers-Jones to the meeting. He remarked that Mr. Clift's visit was an indication of Government's appreciation of the work of the Kuk.

Mr. LAU Wong-fat pointed out in the course of developing the IT, Government must not overlook the interests and welfare of the N.T. residents, particularly in handling the problem of the NT lease. He expressed his concern about the social and environmental problems brought about by development.
