I attach as much of the briefing for this visit as we have assembled thus far. The only outstanding parts are agenda notes, information for which we still await from Hong Kong, and speech
There have also been a number of unofficial and unsolicited contributions to the mission briefing which we will submit in a separate folder.
2.
The programme is subject to minor revision and a detailed one giving timings of departures for engagements and transit times. between them will follow. The present programme indicates dress where necessary. No engagements are black tie. You will see that there will be a welcoming committee on arrival at Kai Tak airport and press photographers and press photographers (but not journalists) will be present.
3. The Minister, I am sure, has no need of a steering brief, but for the record. I understand the aims of the mission to be as follows:
ارة
a)
b)
c)
Develop better contacts at a high level between the UK fabric industry and theHong Kong garment industry;
Bring to the attention of the Hong Kong garment industry the high quality fabrics available from UK suppliers;
Demonstrate to all that we recognise Hong Kong as a market - as well as a leading supplier.
