Cathay Pacific

Cathay Pacific, Hong Kong's own airline, hoped to share the Hong Kong to London route with British Airways and smaller companies like British Caledonian and Laker Airways. However, the Civil Aviation Authority in London, treating Cathay Pacific strictly as a colonial airline, recently turned down its application to share, and nominated British Caledonian as BA's only competitor. Cathay Pacific is, however, still looking to expand to Canada and the USA.
