EARLY DAY MOTION: COLONIES - DEATH PENALTY

1.

'That this House reiterates its view that capital

punishment should not be re-introduced in the United Kingdom and urges the Government to advise Her Majesty to exercise the Prerogative of Mercy in all cases in British colonies.!

This Motion is for answer by the House Secretary on Thursday; the Home Office need material from us by 10.30 am tomorrow morning. This should be in the form of one or two sentences answering the second half of the question and a short background note. It is most unlikely that the EDM will be reached.

2. The material is attached, cleared with Mr Rushford.
