There is a stabbing case (the accused is a Chilean subject) but it has not yet been tried and it will be some considerable time yet before we know the verdict. The Governor has already set enquiries in train as to how best to deal with a possible long prison sentence. Whatever the verdict in this case, there is no danger that the Governor will not commute.
