Note to Editors
During its passage through Parliament, the Bill was amended in several technical respects. However, the substantive provisions of the Act remain much the same as summarised in our press notice 445 of October 31 1979. The only new provision is an enabling power which would permit, under certain circumstances, the Secretary of State to enter into bilateral conventions to facilitate the mutual enforcement of judgements under Clause 6.
