This clause contains definitions and supplementary provisions.

Subsection (1) provides that the Short Title of the Bill, when
enacted, is to be the Protection of Trading Interests Act 19

Subsection (2) defines an "overseas country" for the purposes of
the Bill as meaning any country or territory outside the United Kingdom
other than one for whose international relations Her Majesty's Government
in the United Kingdom are responsible.

Subsection (3) relates to federal states. It provides that referen-
the law or ces in the Bill to/a court, tribunal or authority of an overseas country include, in the case of a federal state, the tribunal or authority
of any constituent part of that country.
5.
Subsection (4) repeals the Shipping Contracts and Commercial Documents
Act 1964, which is superseded by the Bill, together with amendments to that
Act in paragraph 18 of Schedule 2 and paragraph 24 of Schedule 3 of the
Criminal Law Act 1977.
6. Subsection (5) provides that the Bill shall extend to Northern Ireland.
