Thank you for your letter of 17 October about the extension

of this Act to Bermuda.

The proposal that references to "the Minister" of Finance be replaced by references to "the Governor', has caused the Government of Bermuda to question whether the extension of the U.K. Act to Bermuda is really the best way to achieve its purpose. The Government has, therefore, decided that it does not, after all, wish to have the Act extended to Bermuda, and has instructed the Attorney General to draft a Bermudian Bill to deal with the confidentiality of commercial documents.
