FUTURE OF THE DEPENDENT TERRITORIES

1. At your monthly meeting on 7 January, we discussed the

next steps to be taken in dealing with the memorandum on policy

towards the Dependent Territories, now that it has been approved

by the Secretary of State. It was agreed that you should write

to OAGS, sending them copies of the memorandum and inviting them

to consider whether it posed any problems for them and, if not,

what was the best procedure for making subsequent use of it.

I attach a draft agreed with Mr Duff.
