POLICY TO WARDS THE DEPENDENT TERRITORIES

1. Thank you for your letter of 1 February 1980 enclosing

the memorandum which sets out HMG's policy towards the Dependent Territories. I am sorry that it has taken so long to reply.

Since the memorandum does not apply to this territory, I have no substantive comments and am content that it should

be given wider circulation, given your assurance that the special position of the Falkland Islands will be made clear.
