STAFFING OF DEPENDENT TERRITORIES

1.

For our meeting this afternoon, may I suggest that we try to tackle the following subjects:

(a) Management of DS officers in senior DT posts;

(b) DS cadre of officers with DT experience;

(c) Pooling of manpower resources with Hong Kong_for posts

in other DTS;

(d) Pooling of manpower resources with Australia and/or New

Zealand for posts in DTs other than Hong Kong;

(e) DS secondments to the Hong Kong Government Service, including Hong Kong representational posts in third countries;

(f) HCS secondments to the Hong Kong Government Service; (g) Secondments from the Hong Kong Government Service to DS,

HCS and EC Commission;

(h) Possible posts in Hong Kong, other DTS and Hong Kong

Government Office, London, for DS officers taking premature retirement;

(i) Recruitment of Administrative Officers for Hong Kong by

the Civil Service Commission.
