Applications are invited for appointment as Senior Railway Workshops Inspector in the Kowloon Canton Railway, Hong Kong. The successful candidate will assist in supervising the installation, commissioning and maintenance of railway signalling equipment, including computer con- trolled train describers, remote control equipment, telephone and data networks, P.C.M. transmission system, radio equipment and public address system. Other duties include scheduling maintenance procedures, manpower planning, recruitment, budget preparation and training of staff. Applicants must have a diploma in Electrical or Electronic Engineering from a polytechnic or technical institute with at least 5 years experience in a senior position in telecommunications and railway signal system. Prefer- ence will be given to those who can speak both Cantonese and English. Appointment will be for an initial period of 2 years. The salary scale is from HK $7,300 to HK $8,400 per month (approximately £7,620 to £8,760 p.a.*).
