SECONDMENT OF HOME CIVIL SERVANTS TO THE HONG KONG GOVERNMENT SERVICE
1. In May last, the Hong Kong Government advised us that requirements of secondees from the Home Civil Service during 1981 would probably be 2 - 3.
3. I enclose a copy of Mr Tsang's letter on this subject.
2.
I also enclose a copy of the trawl notice circulated by the Civil Service Department on 11 September together with all the original applications we have received. Our preliminary view is that of the 48 applicants, 24 are well worth interviewing. (Those we have doubts about are marked with an X in the top corner of the application form.) This will mean some four days interviewing in your Office in January next.
3. As agreed on the telephone, please let us have the original application forms back as soon as possible with your views on those you would not wish to ask for interview so that we can advise the unsuccessful applicants. You will no doubt make copies of the applications for the interview board and for Hong Kong. I shall be glad if you could also contact applicants for interview to arrange suitable times and dates.
