I have the honour to refer to hrs Gregory's letter HKA 431/8 of 31 July and to your telegram number 75 of 16 August about the posts for which my approval is required under the provisions of Colonial Regulation 19 for appointments and promotion!.

With effect from 11 September 1978 my approval will be needed only for appointments and promotions to the following posts:-

Financial Secretary

Attorney Generul

Solicitor General (if any)

Auditor

Chief of Police

Judge

Appointments to the post of Deputy Governor will continue to require Her Majesty's approval under the terms of Section 4(1) of the Virgin Islands (Constitution) Order, 197
