of Geoffrey Guy's letter of 28 December. This is a copy book illustration of the problems Governors face particularly in budgetary aided dependencies where every penny put into the estimates to buy a new washer for the Government House bathroom is one penny less to buy skimmed milk for the local school children.

I think Mr Guy's suggestion is sound and I think also, although this is looking to the future when times may be easier than they are today, that certainly in the case of our grant aided dependencies it might be necessary to accept full responsibility for the emoluments of OAGS.
