On 18th July, Finance Committee approved a tapered increase for the Civil Service averaging about 8% overall. For your information, a copy of Civil Service Branch Circular No. 18/79 which announced the increase is enclosed. The new salary scales are set out in Appendices 1 to 8.

Finance Committee also approved the revision of the Governor's salary from $31,000 to $32,800 a month with effect from the 1st April 1979.
