Re:

The Injustice from Hong Kong Housing Authority

We are a group of 4000 industrial undertakings originally having our own manufacturing premises and our factory licienses were issued with the full approval from Labour Department and Fire Department. Though we are small firms, we had contributed very much for the foundation of Hong Kong's industries, obtained a considerable amount of foreign exchange and offered jobs to 100,000 workers.

However, tempted by the good price of real estates, Hong Kong Government sacrified our premises and we were ordered to demolish our properties. There was no a penny of compensation for our loss from stopping work, removing of our set-ups and expenses for laying off our workers. We were resettled to multi-storey industrial buildings where had nothing furnished but an empty space with bare columns. We had to start all over with our factory, building our own walls, windows and doors, rediculously even for the underground power line, we had to collect capitals for installation. The worst of all was that the area given to us was only 1/10 of what we had before resettlement. Some of us were assigned to the 6th floor without elevators.

All these injustice from Hong Kong Government have been accepted and endured by us without a word for 18 years. Unfortunately, seeing that we were good enough to keep quiet, Hong Kong Housing Authority behaved like a wild beast since their taking over the management of the resettlement factory buildings. Harsh regulations were put up without consulting with the tenants. Practically, they did what they felt like to do.

We, the 4000 firms, can no longer keep our mouths shut. Anyhow, we have no way to appeal our facts and truth because Hong Kong is a deceitful democracy. Departments in the Goverments are also standing on the same side. Nobody would listen to our problems.
