Mr Hurray
Parliamentary Unit
HONG KONG : PQS : FR FRANK HOOLEY MP
1.
Mr Frank Hooley P (Labour - Sherfield, Heeley) has put
down 8 Questions, for Priority Written Answer on 17 July,
concerning the resumption of land and buildings in connection with the construction of the Mass Transit Railway (MTK) in Hong Kong.
2. Mr Hooley last asked a Question on the MTk in 1976.
Mr Robert Parry MP (Labour Liverpool, Scotland Exchange) put
down 6 Questions on this topic in February 1977.
3. I submit draft replies to Mr Hooley's Questions and a
Background Note. The answers and the Note are based on
information supplied by the Hong Kong Government (llong Kong Telno 1010). The draft answer to the question about profits has been cleared with the Hong Kong Government by telephone: the suggested reply in Hong Kong Telno 1010 was based on a
misunderstanding of the question. The answer to the Question
about the Peking Convention has been cleared with the Department's
Legal Adviser.
