In his submission of 6 April, Mr McLaren said that the Hong Kong Government had been asked for a full report on the further incidents involving Hong Kong boat dwellers, about which Lord Brockway wrote to Lord Goronwy-Roberts on 29 March. Lord Goronwy-Roberts sent an interim reply on 9 April.

We have now received the report from Hong Kong (Hong Kong telegram No 449 of 9 April), and I recommend that Lord Goronwy- Roberts should send Lord Brockway a substantive reply on the lines of the attached draft.
