persons of my family is living in a boat no. undergone a long and harsh time in stormy winds and waves and in the hot sun. Our boat is almost broken and has the great danger of being sunk. There is no electricity nor running water supply, poor hygiene, inconvenient and expensive transportation. Children are always in the danger of being drown. This is indeed not a living place for human being. For this we and our neighbours has visited Housing Authority, Housing Secretariat and the other related departments appealing for resettlement, but up till now there has not reply from any of them.
Our housing problem has not been solved yet, and we are dissatisfied with the related government departments. We are also angry to the housing department for they dis- torted us as refugees from Mainland China.
For that, I hereby earnestly make the following requests:
1) Government should plan a "resettlement project for the boat people". Within half
year have all the boat people who are in dangerous boat (as checked by the Marine Department already but for long not yet resettled) resettled.
2) If there is such a plan, would you
about it.
Yours Sincerely,
(name of boat people )
please let all of the boat people know
