Your Petitioner will be employed in his father's steel

import and export business as an inspector of steel, initially on a salary of $2,500.00 with full board and lodging provided at Bonaventure Building, Flat 16A, 91 Leighton Road, Happy Valley.

Your Petitioner's services are required in view of the large volume of steel his father deals in.

During his employment with the Sun Hu Steel Factory your Petitioner worked under an experienced surveyor and learnt to classify different finished products and have them marked and alloted for various purposes.

In his employment with the Shanghai Mechanical Steel Blade Factory, your Petitioner's work concerned the manufacture of special types of stainless steel required for mechanical steel blades, and during those 4 years your Petitioner worked in various departments in learning formulae and the actual mixing of raw materials, in the control of electric furnaces and the supply of the proper percentage of oxygen in the processing of the steel. Finally your Petitioner also learnt to take out various semi-finished products for examination and for analysis to determine whether such products were suitable for the manufacture of the mechanical steel blades.

As a whole your Petitioner may say he is now a person experienced in judging the quality of various types of steel, in particular stainless steel. Your Petitioner is also capable of

supervising the entire process of steel and stainless steel manufacture.

Your Petitioner's father Chang Liang Hou was born in the Au Hwei Province, China and he emigrated to Hong Kong in 1949. Your Petitioner's father was thereafter employed by a number of commercial concern living mainly in Hong Kong and partly in Shanghai, China.
