A final (Chinese) propaganda point. be interested to see the enclosed article from the 22 September issue of the 'southern Daily' purporting to describe the hard life for a ICR employee in Hong Kong. Understandably the IC: rasent the slur and have drawn theth attention of their Chinese railway colleagues to the article in a low-key way. However such distortions may be part of an attempt to persuade local people that the streets of Hong Kong are not paved with gold. since this does indirectly serve our interests in attemptin to keep down illegal immigration ve do not intend to protest officially to the HCKA.
