The statistical returns for December 1978 cre

The daily average figures for legal immigration from China vero:-

367, including CPG passport holders

311, excluding CPG passport holders with visas for final destination.

This is an increase on the November figures of 332 and 304.

2, 303 illegal immigrants from China were arrested during the month (including 1,160 former residents of North Vietnam who are believed to have arrived by sea from China) compared with 2,263 in November.

2 CPG passport holders without visas who were identified as former residents of Vietnam were refused permission to land at Lo Wu on 8 December and repatriated to China on 30 December. 8 Exit Permit holders who were identified as former residents of Vietnam were refused permission to land on 27 December, and detained for further enquiries.

5.

41 illegal immigrants from Macao were arrested

during the month.
