As requested to Mr Jones, I am attaching copies of the Home Secretary's letter of 22 August to Mr Pym and a follow-up

letter of 14 September from Mr Luce to Mr Raison. [ LPS to N Whiteland]

2. You will see from these letters that the issue is still live. The members of the Home Affairs Committee themselves are not agreed on the solution to the problem and it is by no means certain that the Home Office's view will prevail.
