1. I suggest that you might use something along the lines of the following in your reply to the letter from Mr Roy Mason MP of 29 November to the Secretary of State:

"I am sorry that you have been given a disquieting

picture of the Vietnamese refugee camps in Hong Kong. Whilst they are not luxurious, they are well run and the standards in them are equal to, if not better than, the others in the area.'
