The Department earlier submitted a draft Answer, together

with Notes for Supplementaries, references and background

notes, to the Parliamentary Question which Mr Alastair Goodlad

(C, Northwich) has put down for oral answer tomorrow, 31 October.

2. I now re-submit the papers with 6 additional Supplementaries

[re flag covering the points for which Mr Blaker asked yesterday and

suggested by Mr de llaan's call on him. Supplementary answer

No 8 has been amended to reflect the latest Home Office figures,

and Supplementary answer No 9 expanded to give an impression of

the numbers of refugees we expect to have arrived here from

Hong Kong by the end of the year.
