UNHCR'S ROLE IN HONG KONG

3

Between 1 January and 16 October, UNHCR had resettled

13,831 refugees in more than 20 countries. Relations between

the UNHCR and the Hong Kong Government are good. We are

striving to ensure that UNHCR allocations will fully take

into account the fact that Hong Kong now has a greater number

of refugees under its temporary care than any other country

in the region.
