After opening courtesies, Mr Daryatmo recalled that Mr Blaker had himself been born in Hong Kong, and had recently revisited it during his current tour of Asian countries. He asked him about the refugees in Hong Kong. Mr Blaker described this. Mr Daryatmo noted that there was still illegal immigration to Indonesia by Chinese via Singapore and Hong Kong and that some of these illegal immigrants were people who had earlier left Indonesia for China.

Mr Blaker recalled the invitation that had recently been extended to Mr Daryatmo to visit Britain as the guest of the British Government and said that he hoped that Mr Daryatmo and his wife would be able to take up this invitation in the near future. Mr Daryatmo said that he was not yet able to make promises about when he could come, but agreed to discuss dates in due course.

The remainder of the conversation covered differences between Parliamentary procedures in Indonesia and Britain. After taking leave of Mr Daryatmo at 10.30 am Mr Blaker briefly visited the DPR Chamber and also saw one of the Commissions in action.
