4. Mr Rajaratnam said that Sir Omar still hoped that the new UK
Government would relax the pressure on him to make changes. Singapo
and Malaysia both thought Brunei's best hope of security lay in an,
association with ASEAN and thought the other members would concur,
Lord Carrington said that Mr Malcolm Macdonald would be visiting
Brunei in September and would be followed by Mr Blaker, He would
wish to see Mr Macdonald before he left.
