Hong Kong does not make a separate contribution to UNHCR.

But costs on Vietnamese refugees incurred by the Hong Kong

Government will amount to about £22 million in 1979.

and donor countries is attached.

15. The attached list gives the preliminary FCO assessment of

which developing countries may be willing to accept Indo-Chinese

refugees. In addition, it seeks to assess whether or not

countries would be influenced by offers of financial help.

16. It could cost US$ 2,000 to 3,000 to resettle a refugee in a

developing country or $2,000,000 to 3,000,000 for every 1,000 refugees primarily for disbursement to the recipient developing

countries. There is no readily identifiable source of a UK

aid contribution to such resettlement costs.
