LORDS PQ FOR ORAL ANSWER ON WEDNESDAY 4 JULY: SECURITY COUNCIL ACTION AGAINST VIETNAM

1. Mr Blaker has seen your submission of 28 June and has commented that we need further supplementaries on:

i) What representations have we made to Malaysia and Thailand?

ii) Will we provide more money to the UNHCR?

iii) How many refugees have we agreed to accept and how many have

already reached this country?

iv)

v)

2.

The

What support have we had for the idea of a Conference? reply to this question should refer to the fact that we have approached over 50 countries in London, the EEC reaction (the recent Council of Ministers' Meeting in Paris), developments at the Tokyo Summit, and the reactions of His Holiness the Pope and President Giscard D'Estaing.

Will we cut off help in Vietnam?

Mr Blaker would also be grateful if you would attach a copy of the Hansard text of his speech in the House of Commons Adjournment Debate on 28 June.
