1. I shall be paying a one-day visit to Paris on 26 July. I have spoken to Mr James in Paris who thinks that we should leave it to the French to propose the agenda. I have told him that I shall obviously want to concentrate on Vietnam and refugee problems but there will no doubt be other issues including subjects affecting India and Pakistan.

2. I shall decide nearer the time what if any briefing I shall require.
