In addition, Hong Kong has admitted 9,200 former residents of
Vietnam for permanent resettlement since 1975, and on 5 June there
were a further 44,690 Vietnamese refugees in the territory pending
resettlement elsewhere.

The total number of refugees in Thailand on 1 May, according to the
same sources, was 149,126. This includes 146,000 refugees from
Cambodia and Laos.
