This afternoon Mr Masefield had a conversation with Mr Sun, Counsellor at the Korean Embassy who had telephoned him to say that the Koreans hoped to have news for us shortly about the number of refugees that would be taken by Taiwan. Mr Masefield said that it was our understanding from information received today that Taiwan would be taking none of the refugees. He asked the Koreans to put further pressure on the Taiwan Authorities.
