6/6/79.

VIETNAM REFUGEES.

May we appeal to you in respect of the above captioned subject to give any assistance to the Hong Kong Government and its people.

Thousands are arriving daily, in junks, steamships, and has caused severe problems to the Hong Kong Government as housing, medical and social services, besides education for the children and security measures have to also be taken into consideration.

As few countries are accepting these refugees for permanent settlement it will gradually cause serious consequences to Hong Kong, therefore, we hope that under your high influence, you may, for the sake of Hong Kong, seek assistance from advanced countries.

Thank you.
