Mr Morgan's minute of 5 June records a request from Sir Leslie Kirkley to discuss aspects of the Indo-Chinese refugee problem with the Minister of State. The Minister's Office has tentatively arranged a meeting for 1000 hrs on Wednesday 13 June.

2. I should be grateful if UND and HK&GD could provide draft contributions to the briefing the Minister will require on items (ii) assistance to the UNHCR and (iii) the situation in Hong Kong, by close of play Friday 8 June. SEAD will coordinate briefing on items (i) and (iv) with ODA, and on item (v) with SPD, DOT and FCO Legal Advisers.

3. I should also be grateful if addressees could indicate whether they would be available to participate in the Minister's meeting should he desire it or should developments make it necessary.
