Vietnamese Refugees
I enclose copies of two letters which have been addressed to the Prime Minister about the Vietnamese refugee problem, by the Standing Conference on Refugees and the British Committee for Vietnamese Refugees respectively.
I should be grateful for urgent advice on how the Prime Minister might respond to these two letters, and if you, and the other recipients of this letter, would arrange for those dealing with the Vietnamese refugee problem to see them as soon as possible. It would be helpful if draft replies to the two letters, if necessary of an interim nature, could reach me not later than 1700 hours on 1 June.
I am sending copies of this letter to Tony Butler (Home Office), Bill Beckett (Law Officers Department), Tom Harris (Department of Trade) and Martin Vile (Cabinet Office).
J.S. Wall, Esq.,
