Mr Reimaa (First Secretary) at the Embassy of Finland telephoned initiative, to ask whether the recent press me yesterday, on his own report (in the Guardian, I think) that Britain had called for an international conference to discuss the Indo-China refugee problem if any, action accurate. He also was interested to know what

I also said we were considering whether there might be merit in seeking a discussion of the whole refugee question at ECOSOC in July when the UNHCR report gemes up for consideration.

4 June at 11 am for a discussion of this matter in greater depth. I agreed. You may like to join us. I asked Mr Reimaa what Finland had done to assist the UNHCR in coping with the refugee problem.

In the meantime, and verse from him when he calls next Monday. I gave him details of the problem as it affects Hong Kong and said that it would be much appreciated if his Government would consider admitting to Finland some refugees presently in Hong Kong who are awaiting resettlement elsewhere.
