prise abroad or written statement to the same effect (duration

4. The Government of Japan has thus determined to take a certain
number of Indochinese displaced persons for resettlement in
Japan who are temporarily staying in Southasian countries.
·
At the same time, there has been no change in the Government's
attitude that it will extend due financial contribution to the
office of the UNHCR. Under the current Japanese program, however,
no financial assistance can be rendered to an individual displaced
person seeking resettlement in Japan. For this reason, Japanese
Government wishes to ask for the assistance and co-operation of
the UNHCR (or its related organizations) regarding such pre-departure
arrangements as medical examination, visa applications, purchase
of flight tickets etc. of those displaced persons who may be or
have been approved admission to Japan for resettlement.
