(a) The ship sent a radio message to Marine Department after the meeting to say that they had sent a telegram to Taiwan but had not received a reply. On receipt of a reply they would consider further what to do.
19th January, 1979
at 17.30 hours Marine Department received a radio message from the "Huey Fong" requesting permission from the Government to sail into Hong Kong immediately. No reply was sent but at 17.33 the ship raised anchor and entered Hong Kong waters.
