1. When Fr Cortazzi met the Vietnamese Ambassador on 27 February to speak to him about the boatloads of Vietnamese refugees and the complicity of Vietnamese officials in this trade, the Ambassador asked what percentage of those on board the Huey Fong and the Skyluck were ethnic Chinese. No information is yet available on those on board the Skyluck who have not yet been landed, but 3018 of the 3318 persons on board the Huey Fong are ethnic Chinese.
2. I should be grateful if you would convey this information to the Vietnamese Ambassador.
