Not legally required. By mutual agree- ment between employer and employee.
Remarks
The leave may be extended by a further 4 weeks (before or after child birth) on grounds of illness or disability
arising out of the
pregnancy or confinement.

Female employees in the Civil Service and in most private establishments are expected to resign from work upon marriage. Thus the question of maternity leave seldom arises.
