Explanatory Memorandum

The purpose of this Bill is to amend section 13 of the Births and Deaths Registration Ordinance (which provides for the addition to or alteration of a child's name) by preventing such addition or alteration in a register book under the Ordinance after a child has

attained the age of eleven years.

This Bill has no financial or staffing

implications.
