CLEAN AIR (AMENDMENT)

Ordinance, would not be liable to be prosecuted for that offence by reason of section 26 of the Magistrates Ordinance, he shall, notwith- standing this Ordinance, not be liable to be prosecuted for that offence.

An Ordinance to amend the Employment Ordinance to provide therein for powers of entry into places of employment and to enable regulations to be made thereunder in relation to employment; and to amend that Ordinance and certain other Ordinances in relation to the employment of young persons and children; and for matters connected therewith.

[1st September, 1979]

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Employment (Miscellaneous Short title and Provisions) Ordinance 1979 and shall come into operation on 1 September commencement. 1979.

2. The enactments specified in the first column of the Schedule are Amendment amended to the extent and in the manner set out in the second column of specified of the Schedule.

In section 2-

(s. 2.1

(a) after the definition of "annual leave pay" insert

the following—

""child" means—

(a) until the expiration of 31 August 1980, a person under the age of 14 years; and

(b) with effect from 1 September 1980, a person under the age of 15 years;"; and

(b) delete the definition of "young person" and

substitute the following----

""young person" means--

(a) until the expiration of 31 August 1980, a person who has attained the age of 14 years but not the age of 18 years; and

(b) with effect from 1 September 1980, a person who has attained the age of 15 years but not the age of 18 years.”.
