Regulation 5 of the principal regulations is

in paragraph (1) by deleting After" and

substituting the following

"Subject to paragraph (1A), after";

(b) by inserting after paragraph (1) the

following

(Cap. 115.)

"(1A) The registration officer

shall not cause an identity card to

be prepared in the case of an applicant

who has landed in Hong Kong unlawfully,

within the meaning of the Immigration

Ordinance, unless the applicant is in

possession of a document issued under

that Ordinance authorizing him to

remain in liong Kong."; and
