EMPLOYMENT OF CHILDREN REGULATIONS 1979

On 26th June 1979, having considered memorandum

XCC(79)66, the Council advised and the Acting Governor ordered:

that the Employment (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill 1979, at Annex B of the memorandum, should be introduced into the Legislative Council; and

that the Employment of Children Regulations 1979, at Annex C of the memorandum, should be approved in principle, to be submitted to Members to be made after the bill has passed into law.

The bill was passed by the Legislative Council on 18th July 1979, and received the assent of the Acting Governor on 19th July 1979.

Members will be asked to advise, under proposed new section 73 of the Employment Ordinance (Chapter 57), whether the Employment of Children Regulations 1979, at Annex C of the memo- randum, should be made, to come into operation on 1st September 1979.
