Representations/Objections, inter alia, are as follows:-

(i)

Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd. have been

seeking a route from Hong Kong via Tokyo to

Vancouver since November 1977 and have received

the support of the Hong Kong and British

Governments in this objective.

(ii)

(iii)

Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd. have been on

record for some time now with the Hong Kong

and British Governments as stating that we will

service the route from Hong Kong to the appropriate

West Coast U.S.A. points at the right time.

Under the existing Air Services Agreement

between the British and Japanese Governments,

any additional designation of a U.K. operator

will inevitably be at the expense of Cathay

Pacific.
